Trevon Johnson Scores 20 in Loss to Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE -- Trevon Johnson (Snow Hill, MD/Snow Hill) scored a team-high 20 points, but the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to Wilmington University, 65-63, on Wednesday.
Bloomsburg trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half, but used a 15-0 run to grab a 21-20 lead on a bucket by Dan Hoover (Lansdale/North Penn). Wilmington, though, came back and led by three at the break.
In the second half the Wildcats led by as many as nine points before a three-point play by Johnson with 7:02 to play gave Bloomsburg the lead at 49-48. The lead would then go back and forth between the two teams over the next four minutes before another bucket by Johnson with 3:48 to play gave the Huskies their last lead of the night at 54-53.
In the final 15 seconds Wilmington's Terrence Gibson hit two free throws giving the home team a 64-60 lead. Bloomsburg's Jordan Wartman then came down and drilled a three-pointer to make it a one point game with five seconds to go. Wilmington's Brandon Savage was immediately fouled and hit one of two from the free throw line, but the Huskies were not able to get a shot off and lost by a bucket.
Along with Johnson's 20 points, while Hoover added 14 for the Huskies. Antonio Sherrod scored a game-high 28 for Wilmington.
The Huskies, 2-4, host Slippery Rock on Saturday at 3 p.m.
