BLOOMSBURG- Senior guard Ruben Britt (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) scored 24 points to lead Bloomsburg University to an 82-68 win over Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East men's basketball action on Wednesday night at the Nelson Field House. The win keeps the Huskies alive for the PSAC tournament.

After taking a 9-7 lead with 16:37 to go in the first half, the Huskies (11-12, 5-6) went on a 9-2 run over the next four minutes to go up by nine points. Both teams traded baskets and the lead remained nine at 23-14 until the Red Raiders reeled of eight straight points to cut their deficit to one with 9:04 left. An alley-oop from senior guard Greg Elliott (White Rock, British Columbia/Earl Marriott) to sophomore forward Larry Webster (Elkton, MD/Elkton) and a layup by senior forward Adon El (Philadelphia/St. John Neumann) gave the Huskies a 27-22 advantage, and they would go on to lead by as many as seven before heading into the halftime ahead 43-39.

Shippensburg (10-14, 3-8) turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and was able to tie the game at 50-apiece with 12:22 left to go. That would be the last time the Huskies trailed, as Bloomsburg would go on a 17-5 run to take a 73-62 lead with 4:08 left in the game.

The Red Raiders, however, came right back, getting a three-point play from Will Royal to bring their deficit back to eight points with less than four minutes to play. The Huskies responded again, as a three-pointer by Britt began a 9-3 run to end the game, giving Bloomsburg the 14-point victory.
