BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University men's soccer player Mike Ross (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Week for the period ending, Oct. 1.
Ross, a freshman, scored his first two goals of the season in two double overtime contests last week. His first goal was in a match-up with conference rival Lock Haven Wednesday night. Ross hit the back of the next to give the Huskies 1-0 lead at halftime. The game eventually ended in a 1-1 tie as the teams battled for the first-ever HUSKEAGLE trophy.
His second goal of the week and season ended the Huskies' last game against New York Tech in the 114th minute. Ross took a shot from 10 yards out to the right corner of the goal ending the Huskies' third double overtime game of the season.
Ross and his teammates have a week off until facing Concordia (NY) Saturday and Southampton Sunday. Bloomsburg is 6-3-2 on the year under coach Paul Payne.
