Men's Soccer Team Does Public Service Through RaceBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team recently took part in its annual public service project by running in the 5K “Fitness for Humanity Race” sponsored by the Bloomsburg Press Enterprise newspaper on May 3rd.
The race, to benefit the Bloomsburg Town Park, featured 23 members of the Bloomsburg men's soccer team along with head coach Paul Payne, assistant coach Mark Bassett and eight-year old Molly Payne (daughter of Paul Payne). Several members of the Huskies did well in the race with Adam Clay taking first place in the 20-29 age group, while Daniel Urbina was second in the same age bracket. Payne's daughter Molly, the youngest competitor at the race, took third in the 14 and under group with a time of 31:49. Pictured are some members of the Huskies prior to the race. |
