Bloomsburg Falls in Men's Soccer

ERIE —Mike Blythe scored two goals to lead Mercyhurst to a 6-1 win over Bloomsburg University in men's soccer action on Sunday.

The Lakers opened the scoring seven minutes into the game. The Huskies quickly responded and tied the game just two minutes later when Derek Smith scored off an Adam Clay assist. However, that would be all the scoring for Bloomsburg in the game. The Lakers scored four times in an eight-minute span midway through the first half to open a 5-1 lead at halftime. Mercyhurst added one more second half goal for a 6-1 win.

Bloomsburg falls to 5-10 on the year and will host Caldwell College on Thursday at 3 p.m. Mercyhurst improves to 11-2-1 with the win.
