Bloomsburg Comes up Short in Men's Soccer

MILLERSVILLE —Despite a two goal performance from Greg Pompei (Andover, NJ/Newton) the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team fell, 3-2, to Millersville on Saturday dropping its record to 3-5 on the season.

After scoring the lone goal in the first half, Millersville scored again to open the second half and march out to a 2-0 lead. Pompei got the Huskies on the board midway through the second half as he scored an unassisted goal. However, the Marauders would add another goal at the 67:00 mark to take a 3-1 lead. Pompei would score the game's final goal with just six minutes left in regulation off an assist from Josh Prall (Clarks Summitt/Abington Heights).

In goal for the Huskies, T.J. Ciotti (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) and Jon Keller (Clarks Summitt/Abington Heights) split time as Ciotti made three saves, while allowing two goals. Keller made two saves on the day while allowing one goal.

The Huskies will next be in action Wednesday as they travel to play District of Columbia at 4 p.m.
