Bloomsburg Downs New York Tech in Men's Soccer

LOCK HAVEN —Derek Smith (Cochranville/Octorara) and Greg Pompei (Andover, NJ/Newton) scored second half goals to lead Bloomsburg University to a 2-0 win over New York Tech on Sunday.

After a scoreless first half, Smith scored a goal at 50:46 mark to put the Huskies up 1-0. Then, just over three minutes later, Pompei scored his second goal of the weekend to give the Huskies some breathing room.

Bloomsburg goalie T.J. Ciotti stopped five shots on the afternoon for his first collegiate shutout.

Bloomsburg, 2-3, will host Concordia on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
