Lafferty Powers Huskies Past Holy Family

BLOOMSBURG-- Ryan Lafferty's (Willow Grove/Upper Dublin) second goal of the game lifted the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team to a 3-2 overtime win over Holy Family on Tuesday.

Lafferty's second goal of the game came in the 94th minute on a penalty kick and sent the Huskies to their fifth win of the season. The Huskies trailed 1-0 early in the second half when Chris Chestnut (West Lawn/Wilson) scored off a Lafferty assist at the 45:58 mark. Bloomsburg took its first lead of the game on Lafferty's goal in the 78th minute on a corner kick with Chestnut getting the assist. Holy Family tied the game in the 87th minute setting up Lafferty's heroics in the overtime period.

Bloomsburg, 5-4-4, will play at Slippery Rock on Saturday at 1 p.m.
