BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team won its second straight meet Saturday, defeating William Paterson 106-89. The Huskies won six of the 11 events to improve their record to 2-2 on the year.
Bloomsburg had six different swimmers win races. Jay Forman (Lewisberry/Red Land) won the 200-yard freestyle race to give the Huskies their first win of the day. Forman also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle race. Jason Davis (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) won the 200-yard individual medley, while Brent Watkins (Dallastown/Dallastown) won the 200-yard butterfly race.
Also victorious for Bloomsburg were Brandon Hilt (Mount Joy/Hempfield) who won the 100-yard freestyle and Michael Zeigler (York/Dallastown) who won the 500-yard freestyle event. Winning the sixth and clinching race for the Huskies was Taren Igou (Annville/Palmyra) who was the winner of the 200-yard breaststroke race.
William Paterson won both relay events and also picked up points by winning three other races. Michael Dawe, Billy Kessel and Christopher Bell all won races for the Pioneers.
The Huskies will swim at Shippensburg on November 19.
