Bloomsburg Men's Swimming Falls to Golden Rams, 165-95.5

WEST CHESTERThe Bloomsburg University men's swim team fell to West Chester, 165-95.5 on Saturday. With the loss, the Huskies drop to 1-4 on the season.
The team was led by first place finishes from Tom DiSalvatore (Thorton/West Chester East), David Rude (Pottstown/West-mont Christian) and Brandon Hilt (Mt. Joy/Hempfield). DiSalvatore finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.55, while Rude won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:14.34.
Hilt was first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.32.
Coming in behind DiSalvatore in the 500 freestyle were Jason Davis (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) in second and Ryan Farrell (Mountaintop/Bishop Hoban), who was third. Davis finished with a time of 5:21.08, while Farrell had a time of 5:25.90.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Travis Wagner (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) finished second behind Hilt in 58.58, while Tradd Cummings (Henryville/Pocono Mountain) was third in 59.19. Wagner also recorded a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.34.
Mark Freeman (Bethlehem/Freedom) also swam strong for the Huskies finishing second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:15.75 and took third in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.40.
Eric Weathers (Eagleville/Methacton) turned in a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50:34 and was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.16.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Andrew Wise (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin), Stephen Post (Scranton/Scranton), Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) and DiSalvatore finished first with a time of 3:18.48, while the team of Matt Fender (Swarthmore/Cardinal O'Hara), Hilt, Weathers and Wagner was second in 3:33.55.
The Huskies next meet will be a make-up meet against Indiana (PA) on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1:00 p.m.
