In women's action, freshman Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) was sixth in the 200-free in a time of 1:55.55, while in the 100-backstroke, Kari Pokrzywa (Fairless Hills/Pennsbury) was ninth in a time of 1:01.20. Also, Erin Carey (West Chester/Henderson) was eighth in the 400-IM in a time of 4:46.10.
In relay action, the Huskies took third in the 800-free relay with a time of 7:54.66. Swimming for Bloomsburg was Smith, Emily Varley (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury), Ashley Kroh (Boyertown/Boyertown) and Ashley Yelinek (Youngwood/Southmoreland).
In the 200-medley relay, the team of Laura Jeffers, Kroh, Sara Lengler (Harrisburg/C.D. East) and Smith were eighth in a time of 1:53.95.
For the men, Chris Rumfelt (Shamokin/Shamokin) was fifth in the 200-free with a time of 1:42.51, while Ken Smith (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) was 12th in the 400-IM in a time of 4:31.31.
In relay action, the Huskies finished third in the 800-free relay with a time of 7:07.67 with Rumfelt, Smith, Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) and Stephen Post (Scranton/Scranton) in the water.
Also, the Huskies were fifth in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:40.21 with Mark Freeman (Bethlehem/Freedom), Brandon Palmer (Carlisle/Big Spring), Rumfelt and Backsenstoe swimming.
The championships will conclude on Saturday. The prelims start at 10 a.m. with the finals going at 6 p.m.
