Bloomsburg Men's and Women's Swim Teams Downs Kutztown

KUTZTOWN--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams defeated Kutztown University on Saturday. The men won by a score of 106-99, while the women won, 106-97.

For the men, Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) was a two-time winner taking first in the 50-free in 21.84 and the 100-free in 49.04. Also, Steve Withers (Doylestown/Central Bucks) won the 1000-free in 10:22.62, while Steve Post (Scranton/Scranton) took first in the 200-free in 1:48.54.

For the women, Ashley Yelinek (Youngwood/Southmoreland) was first in the 1000-free in 10:56.33, while Erin Carey was first in the 200-free in 2:02.54. Sara Lengler (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East) also took first in the 200-IM in 2:18.38 with Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) swimming to a first place finish in the 100-free in 55:45.
