Bloomsburg Swimmers At NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS--Two Bloomsburg University swimmers took part in day one action at the 2006 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

In the women's 50-free, Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) was 27th in the preliminary round with a time of 24.74 and failed to advance to the finals.

In the men's 50-free, Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) finished 21st in the preliminary round in a time of 21.23 and also failed to advance to the finals.

Competition at the NCAA championships continues on Thursday.
