Smith Takes 11th at NCAA Swimming Championships
INDIANAPOLIS--On the final day of the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships, Bloomsburg University's Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) finished 11th in the 100-free event in a time of 52.92 seconds to earn honorable mention All-American honors.
Smith reached the 'B' finals of the 100-free championships by finishing 11th in the preliminaries in a time of 52.90.
Earlier in the week, Smith also earned honorable mention All-American honors after taking 13th in the 200-free.
On the men's side, the Huskies two swimmers, Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) and Chris Rumfelt (Shamokin/Shamokin), both swam in the preliminary round of the 100-free, but failed to advance to the finals. Backenstoe finished 32nd in a time of 46.88, while Rumfelt was 40th in 47.12.
