Huskies Sweep Ithaca College

BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men and women's swim team competed against Ithaca College on Saturday. The women won by a score of 113-87 with the men's team winning, 118-87. The women's team is now 2-1 while the men are 2-0.

For the women's team Dianna Smith (West Grove) and Sara Hippeli(Quakertown/ Quakertown) each had two first place finishes to led the Huskies. Smith finished first in the 100 free (54.04) and the 50 free (25.18). Hippeli placed first in the 1000 free (11:07.09 and 500 free (5:26.52). Also, Allie Reed (Selinsgrove /Selinsgrove) placed first in the 200 free (1:59.78).

In stroke events, Michelle Wesh (Pittsgrove, NJ /Our Lady of Mercy Academy) placed first in the 200 (2:20.46) fly for the Huskies and Ashley Carroll (Mohrsville /Schuylkill Valley) placed first in the 200 back (2:19.55).

For the men's team, Joe Bentz (York /York Suburban) and Tyler DeLorenzo (State College/ State College) led the Huskies with two first place finishes. Bentz placed first in the 1000 free (10:27.44) and in the 200 fly (2:04.43). DeLorenzo placed first in the 200 back (2:03.80) and in the 200 IM (2:05.24).

The Huskies will travel to Albright College on November 16th for a 6 p.m. meet.
