Huskies Complete Day Four at PSAC Championships

MECHANICSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's swim team finished fifth at the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships, while the men finished seventh.

Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) set her second school record at the championships when she swam a 52.03 in the 100-free race. Her time placed her third in the event and broke the record she set earlier in the day at the preliminaries. In addition, Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) was eighth in the event with a time of 53.66 seconds.

In the 1650–free, Sara Hippeli (Quakertown/Quakertown) was fifth in a time of 18:05.09, while Jessica Gribbin (Richboro/Council Rock North), was ninth in 18:20.95. In the 200-breast, Lisa Ferrigno (West Chester/Bishop Shanahan), was 10th in 2:31.16, while in the 200-butterfly Michelle Wesh (Pittsgrove, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy) was 10th in 2:19.15.

In the 400-free relay, the team of Reed, Hippeli, Gribbin and Smith were third in 3:35.38.

For the men in the 1650-free, John King (Ridley Park/Ridley) was fourth in 16:45.45, while in the 200-buttefly, Joe Bentz (York/York Suburban) was sixth in 1:58.07 with Ben Safran (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) seventh in 2:01.77. In the 100-free, David Mancinelli (Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop) was 12th in 48.52 seconds.

In the 400-free relay, the team of Mancinelli, Steve Withers (Chalfont/Central Bucks West), Tyler DeLorenzo and Derek Straub (Sinking Spring/Wilson) was fifth in 3:13.17.
