Day Two Action at PSAC Swimming Championships

MECHANICSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams completed day two of the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships on Friday.
For the men, David Mancinelli (Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop) was 9th in the 50-free in 22:08, while Steve Withers (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) was 11th in the 500-free in 4:50.61.
In relay action, the Huskies were sixth in the 200-free in 1:27.71 with the team of Mancinelli, Juan Castaneda (Shamokin/Shamokin), Derek Straub (Sinking Spring/Wilson) and Tyler DeLorenzo (State College/State College).
In women's action, Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) set a new school record in the 50-free finishing fourth with a time of 24.18 seconds. She broke her own mark of 24.42 seconds set earlier in the year. In the same event, Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) was 13th in 24.95 seconds. In the 500-free, Sara Hippelli (Quakertown/Quakertown) took eighth overall with a time of 5:17.43.
In the 200-free relay, the Huskies were seventh in a time of 1:40.53 with the team of Reed, Liz Tesoro (Doylestown/Central Bucks West), Jessica Gribbin (Richboro/Council Rock North) and Smith.
In the 400-medley relay, the Huskies were seventh in 4:10.07 with Ashley Carroll (Mohrsville/Schuylkill Valley), Lisa Ferrigno (West Chester/Bishop Shanahan), Hippeli and Smith.
Action continues Saturday at Cumberland Valley High School.
