Bloomsburg Swim Teams Have Successful Debut

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams had a successful debut under new coach Stu Marvin with both teams taking first place at the 2008 Bloomsburg Relays.
The men's team totaled 224 points to easily outdistance Misericordia University's 140 points, while the women's team scored 197 points to 146 for Mount Saint Mary's University.
On the men's side, the Huskies took first place in all 10 events that were held. The biggest margin of victory came in the 1500 free relay with the Huskies taking first by more than a minute. In the closest finish of the day, Bloomsburg edged Misericordia by three-tenths of second in the 400-yard medley relay.
While not a dominant as the men's team, the Bloomsburg women won eight of 10 events, including the 1500 free relay by more than a minute.
In attendance at the meet were two former Bloomsburg University coaches, Dave Rider and Eli McLaughlin, who were both introduced to the crowd.
