King Set School Record on Day One of PSAC Championships

MECHANICSBURG-- Bloomsburg University men's swimmer John King (Ridley Park/Ridley Park) got off to a great start at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships when he set a school record in the 1000-free event.
King, a sophomore, turned in a time of 9:50.29 for the 20-lap event breaking the mark of 9:51.12 he set earlier this year. King finished 11th in the race to earn All-PSAC honors. Finishing 14th overall with a time of 10:00.11 was Joe Bentz (York/York Suburban). His time was the sixth-fastest in school history. The Bloomsburg men are in sixth place after the one event.
For the Bloomsburg women, Sara Hippelli (Quakertown/Quakertown) was the Huskies top finisher in the 1000-free in a time of 10:56.23, good for 17th place.
