Men's and Women's Swim Teams Earn Team Scholar All-American Rankings

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams qualified for the NCAA Division II Team Scholar All-American rankings by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the fall of 2009. 341 teams made the list by posting a grade point average of 3.00 or better.

The women's team qualified with the ninth highest combined GPA of 3.30 in Division II. The Huskies have a record of 4-4 and are led by captains Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove), Ashley Carroll (Mohnton/Schuylkill Valley), and Kellie Ayres (Gilbertsville/Boyertown). Reed is also ranked in the NCAA Division II Top 25 poll in four relays.

The men's team qualified with the fifth highest combined GPA of 3.13 in Division II. The men have a record of 4-2 and are led by captains Joe Bentz (York/York Suburban), David Mancinelli (Plymouth Meeting/Westmont Hilltop), and Dereck Fritz (Stevens/Ephrata). Mancinelli also made the NCAA Division II Top 25 poll in four relays for the Huskies.

The men's and women's teams will swim at the PSAC Championships in Chambersburg, Pa. from February 18-21.
