BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swimming teams will be well represented at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships to be held at Indiana (PA) University starting Thursday.
Head coach Roch King will be sending eight members of his men's squad.
Sophomore David Robinson will be looking to repeat as champion in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Robinson has also qualified to compete in the 200 free and 500 free events.
Seniors Michael Ives and Brian Manofsky have each qualified for three events. Ives will swim in the 200 individual medley (IM), the 100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly. Manofsky will participate in the 200, 500 and 1,650 freestyle events.
Junior Andrew Rider will swim in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle races. Sophomore Jay Forman will take part in the 50 free and 100 and 200 backstroke. Classmate Brent Watkins will swim the 200 IM and the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.
Freshmen Andrew Clark and Matt Garifo will be a part of the Huskies' participating relay teams.
Last season, the Huskies' finished eighth in the team competition, but an improved showing is expected this year.
On the women's side, coach Dave Rider's team will send 13 swimmers who have qualified for individual events.

Danielle Kadingo, Jr. – 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 butterfly
Deb Laino, Sr. – 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 100 breast, 200 breast
Jamie Ludwig, Fr. – 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly
Sarah Maschal, Sr. – 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly
Brittany Sneberger, So. – 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 butterfly
Erin Snook, Sr. – 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast
Nicole Zienkewicz, Sr. - 200 IM, 200 free, 200 back
Bloomsburg will also compete in the five relay events. This year's 200 freestyle relay team has qualified with a time that is nine seconds faster than that that won first place last year.
Last year, Bloomsburg finished third behind Indiana and Clarion.
The PSAC Swimming Championships begin Thursday, Feb. 17, and run through Feb. 19.
