Dr. Roch King enters his seventh season as head men's swimming coach at Bloomsburg University. King's lifetime record stands at 24-44-2. Twelve of 19 school records, in addition to David Robinson's PSAC title in the 1,650 freestyle, have come during Coach King's tenure.
King, the second winningest men's swimming coach in school history, received his udergraduate degree in environmental biology from Fresno State University in California. He received his master's (1992) and doctorate (1999) degrees in sport psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
He was a member of the 400- and 800- meter free relays at the Junior National Championships for the Clovis Swim Club in 1980. He served as swimming and water polo coach at Clovis West High School from 1982-86. He coached swimming, water polo and boys basketball at Madera High School from 1987-88. While at Temple, he served as the coach of the water polo club.
King still swims competitively and has had multiple top three finishes at the U.S. Masters Long Course National Championships in events such as the 400- and 800-meter freestyle, 100-meter butterfly, and 200- and 400-meter individual medley.
