Bloomsburg Men's Tennis Advances

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL —The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team advanced to the Elite Eight Round at the NCAA Division II championships with a 5-0 win over Northwest Missouri State on Thursday.

In women's action, the Huskies lost to Metro State, 5-1, and finish their season with a mark of 13-6.

The Bloomsburg men, 20-3, will now face West Florida with a record of 26-0 at 8 a.m. on Friday.

In the match with Northwest Missouri State, the Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. Mike McGrath and Aleks Kalezic remained undefeated at number two doubles (11-0) with an 8-4 win, while Mark Vellek and Kurt Caster improved to 12-1 with an 8-3 win at number three doubles.

In singles action, the Huskies put the match away with wins from Brian Bogus and Caster at number five and six respectively.
