Bloomsburg Shuts Out Millersville in Men's Tennis

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated Millersville University, 9-0, Tuesday improving its record to 8-5 on the season.

The Huskies picked up a win at number one singles with Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) beating the Marauders Greg Bennet, 6-1, 6-1. Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) picked up a quick victory at number two, while Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) registered a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number three. Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) cruised at number four with teammate Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) winning at number five. Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) closed out the clean sweep for the Huskies with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number six.

In doubles action, the team of McGrath/Kalezic won, 8-1, at number one, while the team of Bogus/Caster won 8-2 at number two. Vellek/Farnsworth won 8-0 at number three.

The Huskies will next be in action Friday at 2 p.m. as they play their first of three matches in the Bloomsburg Duals next weekend.
