Huskies Down NJIT in Men's Tennis

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated the New Jersey Institute of Technology, 9-0, Saturday.

In singles action the Huskies picked up a routine 6-1, 6-1 victory from Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) at number one, while Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) won 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) won at number three with teammate Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) winning at number four. Brendan Miller (Lampeter-Strasburg) claimed the number five singles match, while Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) won at number six.

In doubles play, the Huskies picked up a win at number one from Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest)/Kalezic, while Bogus/Caster cruised to an 8-0 win at number two. At number three, Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington)/Miller picked up an 8-1 victory.

The Huskies will next be in action Sunday as they host Dowling College at 10 a.m.
