Bloomsburg Tops East Stroudsburg in PSAC Action
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated East Stroudsburg University on Thursday, 9-0, improving its record to 13-5.
In singles action the Huskies picked up a routine 6-0, 6-0 victory from Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) at number one, while Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) won 6-1, 6-1 at number two. Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) won at number three with teammate Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) winning at number four. Brendan Miller (Lampeter-Strasburg) claimed the number five singles match, while Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) won at number six.
In doubles play, the Huskies picked up a win at number one from McGrath/Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia), while Vellek/Miller cruised to an 8-1 win at number two. At number three, Farnsworth/Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) picked up an 8-4 victory.
The Huskies will next be in action Tuesday as they play host to Division I opponent Lehigh at 3 p.m.
