Men's Tennis Win Second Straight

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated Green Mountain College, 8-1, Tuesday in Hilton Head, SC.

The Huskies, 4-4, won all the doubles with wins from the teams of Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) and Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) as well as Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) and Brendan Miller (New Providence/Lampeter-Strasburg), 8-2 and 8-5, respectively. Bloomsburg won number three doubles by forfeit.

In singles, Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) picked up an easy 6-1, 6-3 victory at number one, while Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at number two. At number three, Mark Farnsworth cruised in the first and dropped the second before claiming the match in a third-set tiebreaker winning the match, 6-0, 5-7, (10-4). Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) fell 6-4, 6-3 at number four. The Huskies won five and six by forfeit.

The Huskies will next be in action Monday at 8 a.m. as they hit the courts with conference foe Slippery Rock.
