Bloomsburg Rolls the Rock in Men's Tennis

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated Slippery Rock , 9-0, Wednesday in Hilton Head, SC

The Huskies, 5-4, swept the doubles losing just one game in three matches. At number one doubles the team of Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) and Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) picked up an 8-0 victory, while the team of Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) and Brendan Miller (New Providence/Lampeter-Strasburg) won, 8-1 at number two. Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) and Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) cruised to an 8-0 victory at number three.

In singles, McGrath won at number one, 6-0, 6-1, while Kalezic stormed through his match at number two winning 6-0, 6-1. At number three, Bogus won 6-0, 6-2 with Caster picking up a win at number four, 6-0, 6-0. Miller claimed the number five match 6-1, 6-0, while Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methaction) won at number six, 6-0, 6-0.

The Huskies will next be in action Thursday at 8 a.m. as they square off with Georgia College and State.
