Huskies Snap Three-Match Losing Streak

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated Stonehill College, 7-2, Monday in Hilton Head, SC.

The Huskies, 3-4, swept the doubles behind a routine win from Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) and Aleks Kalezic (Belgrade,Yugoslavia) at number one, 8-2. Brian Bogus (Conroe,TX/Oak Ridge) and Brendan Miller (Lampeter-Strasburg) won, 8-1, at number two while Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) and Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) won at number three, 8-4.

In singles, McGrath picked up a win at number one winning 6-3, 6-2, while Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls,SD/Washinton) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number two. Kurt Caster (Montoursville/Williamsport) picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number to while Miller and Wenck struggled at four and five, respectively. Farnsworth snuck out a 6-1, 7-5 victory at number six.
