Bloomsburg Men's Tennis Splits at BU Duals
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team split a pair of dual matches on Friday losing to Concordia (NY) College, 5-2, before beating Franklin Pierce College, 8-1, in the nightcap.
Against Concordia, the Huskies won a seesaw battle at number one doubles with the team of Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) and Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) pulling out and 8-6 victory. The Huskies other match win came at number two doubles with the team of Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) and Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) cruising to an 8-3 victory.
Against Franklin Pierce, the Huskies swept the doubles before winning five of the six singles matches. The tightest match came at number three singles with Gal pulling out a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
The Huskies move to 4-6 on the season and will next be in action Tuesday as they travel to play conference foe Millersville at noon.
