Bloomsburg Downs West Chester in Men's Tennis
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over West Chester University on Thursday.
The Huskies swept the doubles by not losing a single game. The team of Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) and Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) picked up a victory at number one, while the team of Brian Bogus (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) and Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) won at number two. The pairing of Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) and Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) won at number three.
In singles play, the Huskies picked up a 6-0, 6-2 victory by McGrath at number one, while Bogus cruised, 6-1, 6-1, at number two. Gal and Vellek didn't drop a single game winning at three and four, respectively. Farnsworth won at number six, 6-0, 6-2.
The Huskies improve to 3-5 on the season and will next be in action Friday as they play host to Concordia (NY) College at 2:30 p.m.
