Bloomsburg Drops East Stroudsburg in Men's Tennis

EAST STROUDSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated East Stroudsburg University, 7-2, on Friday afternoon.

The Huskies swept the doubles earning wins at number one from the team of Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) and Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) and at number two from the team of Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) and Cory Smith (Doylestown/C.B. West). The Warriors were forced to forfeit number three.

In singles action, Gal won at number one, while Wenck went down in three sets at number two, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Farnsworth was able to pick up his second win of the day at number three winning 7-6, 6-4. Smith cruised at number four, while Geoff Whitely (Wernersville/Conrad Weiser) went down at number five. The Huskies won flight six by forfeit.

The Huskies improve to 8-7 on the year and will next be in action Sunday as they play host to Dowling at 3:00 p.m.
