Men's Tennis Tops Millersville

MILLERSVILLE—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team was an 8-1 winner over Millersville on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomsburg improved to 5-6 on the season with the win over the Marauders.

Bloomsburg took two of three doubles matches from Millersville as Brian Bogus (Conroe,TX/Oak Ridge) and Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) were 8-0 winners at number two doubles. At number three doubles, Kevin Wenck (Allentown/Parkland) and Mark Farnsworth (Audubon/Methacton) picked up a hard-fought 9-7 decision to lead the Huskies.

Leading 2-1 heading into singles play, the Huskies swept all six matches from Millersville. Bogus was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at number one singles while Mike McGrath (Media/Penncrest) picked up a 7-5, 6-1 decision playing at number two. Dan Gal picked up his second win of the afternoon as he won 6-1, 6-3 at number three singles. Mark Vellek (Sioux Falls, SD/Washington) won the first set of his match 7-6, before taking the second set 6-2 at number four. Kevin Wenck went three sets with Millersville's Scott Smith and prevailed. After losing the first set 6-3, Wenck won the second set 6-3, and won the third set 6-0. Mark Farnsworth was also a double-winner for the Huskies, topping Jim Trieres, 7-5, 6-2 at number six singles.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Sunday as they host New Jersey Institute of Technology at 3:00 p.m.
