BU Wins; Moves On to Texas for Round of 16
WILLIAMSPORT-- The Bloomsburg University men's tennis defeated Bryant University, 5-3, on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Division II championships in a match played at the West Branch Tennis Club in Williamsport. The Huskies will now play in Houston, TX next week in the round of 16.
Bloomsburg took a 2-1 lead coming out of doubles with Dan Gal and Fernando Perez winning at number one doubles, 8-3, while Jeff Nuhfer and Mitch Zenaty won at number three doubles by the same score.
In singles play, Gal posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number one, while Nuhfer won at number five and Dan Phillips at number six. For Bryant, Jose Rodriguez and Dylan Whiting posted victories at number two and four singles respectively.
Bloomsburg improves to 16-5 with the win, while Bryant ends the season at 21-4.
