Men's Tennis Team Loses at NCAA Championships
HOUSTON, TX—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team had its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss to Valdosta State in round three of the NCAA Championships Wednesday afternoon in Houston, TX.
The Blazers, ranked number two in the country, claimed all three points in the doubles action. Bloomsburg's Dan Gal and Fernando Perez lost 8-3 at number one doubles, while Ryan Chow and Daniel Phillips dropped an 8-2 decision at two doubles. At number three doubles the team of Mitch Zenaty and Jeff Nuhfer lost 8-1.
In singles action, Valdosta put things away with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Perez at number two doubles and a 6-0, 6-1 win over Ryan Glubo at six singles.
The Huskies end their season at 16-6.
