April 16, 2003 Bloomsburg Compete in PSAC Tri-MeetLOCK HAVEN—The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track team competed in a PSAC Tri-Meet against Lock Haven and Mansfield Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Danielle Kramer (Coal Township/Shamokin) placed first in the 1,500-meter race in a PSAC qualifying time of 5:01.61. Kramer has now qualified for the PSAC Championships in four events. Sophomore Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) finished second in the 800-meter race dramatically improving her PSAC qualifying time from 2:21.68 to 2:17.18. Katie Conlon (Inkerman/Pittston) took third in a time of 2:25.70. In the 3,000-meter race, Autumn Simmons (Northumberland/Shikellamy) finished second in a time of 12.23.74, while Jessica Lightcap (Pottstown/Pottstown) finished third in 12.38.86. In the 400 meters, Michael Cogan (Schnecksville/Parkland) finished first with a time of 50.30, qualifying him for the PSAC Championships. Cogan also placed third in the 200-meter race in a time of 23.22. Greg McGhee (Philadelphia/Cheltenham) finished second in both the 100 and 200-meter races with times of 11.20 and 22.93, respectively. In the 800 meters, David Gamsby (McAfee, NJ/Vernon Twp.) took second place with a time of 2:01.73, while Brandon Palmer (Carlisle/Big Spring) finished third in 2:02.49. Freshman Paul Gardiner Airville (Kennard Dale) took second place in the 1,500-meter race in a time of 4:19.43, while sophomore Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) took fourth in 4:25.60. |
