Bloomsburg Turns in Solid Performance at Indiana (PA) Open

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University track team turned in a solid performance Saturday at the Indiana (PA) Open.

Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) finished second out of 34 runners in the 800 meters in a time of 2:17.12. Mercer also teamed up with Jenna Corbett (Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills), Hillary Rice (Douglassville/Bangor Area), and Marcie Rumfield (Northampton/Northampton) to take 3rd in the 4X400 in 4:19.33.

In the 3000 meters, Mary Bacher (Allentown/Central Catholic) finished in a time of 10:52.65, good enough for 4th out of 29 runners. Ella Daniels (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock) also ran well in the 3000, finishing 8th in 11:02.08. Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) had an impressive showing in the 5000 meters, taking 8th in 18:57.75.

On the men's side, Mike Cogan (Schnecksville/Parkland) qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 100 meters, taking second in 11.18. Cogan also finished ninth in the 200, finishing in 22.61.

In the 5000 meters, Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) took 8th out of 42 runners, finishing in a time of 15:42.04.

The Huskies will run at the University of Delaware next Saturday.
