Bloomsburg Track Athletes Qualify for PSAC Indoor Championships
BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University's men and women's track teams qualified for the Indoor PSAC Championships this week. The two-day event will be held this weekend at East Stroudsburg University. Competition will run Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the LeRoy J. Koehler Fieldhouse.
For the women's team, Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) qualified for the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:25.40. Mary Bacher (Allentown/Central Catholic) qualified for both the women's mile with a time of 5:33.47 and the women's 3000 meters with time of 11:01.34. Amanda Pisano (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) and Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) also qualified for the women's 3000 meters race with times of 10:34.75 and 10:56.40 and the women's 5000 meters race with times of 18:21.96 for Pisano and 19:15.24 for Bounds.
For the men's team, Greg McGhee (Philadelphia/Cheltenham) qualified for the men's 55 meters with a time of 6.62, the men's 60 meters with a time of 7.15, and the men's 200 meters with a time of 23.34. Also qualifying for the championships were Mike Cogan (Schnecksville/Parkland) in the men's 400 meters with a time of 52.70 And qualifying in the men's 5000 meters race were Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) timing in at 15:58.36 and Bill Shepardson (McMurray/Peters Township) at 16:00.23.
