Mercer Third in 800-Meters at PSAC's Track Championships

EAST STROUDSBURG —The Bloomsburg University Indoor Track teams wrapped up action at the 2005 PSAC championships on Sunday.
For the women, Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) highlighted the day's action for Bloomsburg with a third place finish in the 800-meters. Mercer ran the race in 2:20.39 and lowered her seed by more than three seconds.
In the women's 3000-meter event, Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) was sixth in 10:31.86 and in the process shattered by seed time by more than 21 seconds. In the mile run, Katie Conlon (Inkerman/Pittston Area) was the team's top finisher with a 17th-place finish in 5:30.13.
In the 4 x 400 relay, the Huskies took seventh in 4:12.50 with the team of Connie Raineri (Gilbertsville/St. Piux X), Conlon, Laura Duceman (Mt. Carmel/Mt. Carmel) and Mercer.
For the men, Greg McGhee took fifth in the 55-meter race in 6.54 seconds. McGhee also took part in the 200-meter dash and took fourth in a time of 22.63 seconds.
In the mile run, Dave Sanford (Nescopeck/Central Columbia) was seventh in 4:242.53, while in the 800-meter race, Matt Corrididoni (Pittston/Pittston Area) was 12th in 1:59.80.
In the men's 3000-meter race, Justin Shepherd (Seneca Valley/Cranberry Twp) was ninth of 17 runners in a time of 8:53.67.In the 4 x 400 relay, Bloomsburg was ninth in a time of 3:28.33 with Jamie Ruth, Sam Martin, McGhee and Corridoni running for the Huskies.
