Bloomsburg Track Team at Lafayette Invitational

EASTON —The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track teams took part in the Lafayette College Invitational on Sunday.

In the women's 800-meters Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) took third in a time of 2:17.79, while Katie Conlon (Inkerman/Pittston Area) was 12th in 2:26.81. Conlon also ran in the 1500-meter race and was 11th in 4:57.23.

At 5000-meters, Megan Chaudrue (Carlisle/Carlisle) took second in 19:39.48, while in the long jump competition Connie Raineri (Gilbertville/St. Pius X) took first with a jump of 16 feet eight inches.

On the men's side, Matt Corridoni (Pittston/Pittston Area) was ninth at 800-meters in a time of 1:57.49, while at 1500-meters Dave Sanford (Nescopeck/Central Columbia) was sixth in 4:00.01. At 3000-meters, Mike Espinosa (Media/Penncrest) won the event with a time of 8:54, while Bill Shepardson (McMurray/Peters Township) was third in 8:57.30, while at 5000-meters, Chip Carnes (Linden/Williamsport) was eighth in 15:51.48 with Jake Stamey (Danville/Danville) ninth in 16:04.43.
