WEST CHESTER —The Bloomsburg University track team took part in the PSAC East Challenge at West Chester University on Saturday.
In women's action, Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) was second in the 1500-meters in a PSAC-championship qualifying time of 4:53.93. At 3000-meters, Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) was second in 10:34.99, while Mary Bacher (New Tripoli/Allentown Central Catholic) was third in 10:50.64. Both times were PSAC qualifying times.
At 100-meters, Connie Raineri (Gilbertsville/Pius X) was seventh in a time of 13.04 seconds, while at 800-meters Laura Duceman (Mt. Carmel/Mt. Carmel) was eighth in 2:31.53. Raineri also took part in the long jump and was second with a jump of 16 feet and one half inch.
On the men's side, Dave Sanford (Nescopeck/Central Columbia) was sixth in the 1500-meters in 4:07.67 with Mike Espinosa (Media/Penncrest) eighth in 4:10.14. At 5000-meters Dave Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) was eighth in 16:13.68.
The next action for the Huskies will be at the Bucknell Distance Carnival on April 15-16.
