Millersville Downs NJIT in NCAA East Region First Round
BLOOMSBURG—The Millersville University women's tennis team defeated New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) by a 5-0 score on Friday in the first round of the NCAA East Regional at Bloomsburg University.
The Marauders (11-3) lost just five games in winning all three doubles matches. Millersville's Morgan Burdette and Christy Lilli won at number two doubles by an 8-1 score.
In singles play, Lilli was a winner at four singles over NJIT's Rebeca Solorzano, 6-1, 6-0; while Caitlin Golden won at number five 6-2, 6-0 to clinch the match for the Marauders.
Millersville will now face the winner of Bloomsburg/California (PA) in a second round match on Saturday.
