Bloomsburg Falls in PSAC Championship

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team fell to Kutztown in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) finals by a score of 5-0. The win gave Kutztown their fourth team championship in five seasons.

Bloomsburg dropped all three doubles matches to fall behind 3-0. After a 20 minute rain delay, Brian Bogus and Dan Gal lost a 9-7 heartbreaker to Kutztown's Radoslaw Hlubinski and Somdeep Appenini at number two doubles. Mike McGrath and Mark Vellek fell 8-2 playing at number one while the duo of Mark Farnsworth and Kevin Wenck lost 8-0 playing at number three.

In singles action, Kutztown won the first two matches to take the championship. Harsh Sharma topped Brian Bogus by a score of 6-4, 6-0 at number two while Dan Gal lost a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 decision to Hlubinski. Hlubinski was named the tournament's most valuable player for his efforts.

With the win, Kutztown claimed their fifth team championship in school history.
