Bloomsburg and Kutztown Advance to PSAC Men's Tennis Final
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team advanced to the finals of the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship with a 5-0 win over Millersville University on Friday afternoon.
The Huskies will face Kutztown University, a 5-0, winner over Slippery Rock, on Saturday at 9 a.m. for the PSAC title.
Bloomsburg won all three doubles matches against the Marauders, then, won both of the first two of the singles matches that were completed. Dan Gal picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three, while Kevin Wenck won at number five in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Kutztown cruised through its match with Slippery Rock winning 5-0. The Golden Bears lost just two points in winning all three doubles matches, then picked up wins at number one and two to earn the victory.
This will be the third straight year Bloomsburg and Kutztown have faced off for the PSAC title.
In the consolation match, Millersville blanked Slippery Rock by a score of 5-0. After winning all three doubles matches, the Marauders won the second and third singles flight to take the match.
