BU Student-Athletes Named PSAC Scholar-Athletes
BLOOMSBURG- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced its list of Scholar-Athletes for the 2008-09 season and 92 Bloomsburg University student-athletes have earned recognition for their work in the classroom.
For student-athletes to receive the distinction, they must have compiled a minimal cumulative grade point average of 3.25 for the year. Overall, 1,859 student-athletes from around the PSAC were named as scholar-athletes.
Among those honored from Bloomsburg is Jon Ochs (Wind Gap, PA), a CoSIDA first team Academic All-American and the 2008-09 Bloomsburg University Senior Scholar-Athlete as well as Jamie Vanartdalen (Huntingdon Valley, PA), a CoSIDA third team Academic All-District selection. In addition, both Ochs and Vanartsdalen were named to the 2008 PSAC Fall Top 10 honoring the top 10 male and female student-athletes from the fall sports season.
