BU Runners Named All-Academic Honorees

BLOOMSBURG- Members of the Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams have been named to the Division II Cross Country All-Academic Honors List as voted upon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) a special education/elementary education major, was named as an honoree from the women's team. Borealo earned All-PSAC and All-Region honors this season. She led the Huskies to a second place finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships (PSAC) and a third place finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships. Borealo also placed 44th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships earlier in the season.

For the men Brent Balmer (Lebanon/Cedar Crest), Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg), and Dave Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) received All-Academic Honors. The men's team took fifth place at both the PSAC Championships and the NCAA Regional Championships this season. Balmer an engineering science major, was the fifth place finisher for the Huskies at the PSAC Championships and the NCAA Regional Championships this season. Evans a mathematics major, finished 62nd at the PSAC Championships. Moyer an engineering science major, took 37th at the PSAC Championships and was the third finisher for the Huskies at the NCAA Regional Championships earlier in the season.

To qualify for All-Academic honors, the student athlete must have completed at least 12 semester hours through the semester of competition, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, and have placed in the top 30 percent of the total number of eligible athletes in their respective regional championships. There were a total of 152 honorees for the men and 286 honorees for the women.
