Cowher Named PSAC Pitcher Of The Week

BLOOMSBURG—For the first time this season Bloomsburg University women's softball player Amber Cowher (Williamsport/Williamsport) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Softball Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week.

In three games last week for the Huskies, Cowher posted a 2-0 mark picking up wins against Lock Haven and Caldwell. For the week she threw 13.1 innings, did not allow any runs and struck out 17. She gave up just two walks and seven hits.

Cowher's best game of the week came against Lock Haven where she struck out 10 and allowed no walks in a four-hit shutout in the teams sweep over the Lady Eagle's.

For the year, Cowher has a record of 7-3 with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.34. She is currently ranked first in the PSAC with 61 strikeouts in 12 appearances. In Amber's nine games started she has five complete games and four shutouts.

This is the fourth time in three years that Cowher has been named PSAC Softball Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week.

Bloomsburg is currently 13-5 on the season and will host West Chester Wednesday at 2:30 P.M.
