Bloomsburg Splits with East Stroudsburg in SoftballEAST STROUDSBURG The Bloomsburg University softball team split a twin bill with East Stroudsburg on Sunday winning game one, 9-1, in five innings and dropping the nightcap, 2-1. In the opener, the Huskies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back. Amanda Breon, Sara Roba and Becca Kehler had RBI singles, while Laurel Koster added a two-run double. In the second inning the Huskies made it 6-0 when Roba had a sacrifice fly RBI, then put the game away in the top of the fourth on a three-run homer by Kehler. Amber Cowher went the first three innings for the Huskies allowing just three hits and striking out four to get her 17th win of the season. In game the Huskies' bats fell silent as they managed just three hits. Amanda Breon had two of the hits, one of them a solo homer in the fourth inning, which tied the game at 1-1. The Warriors won the game in the bottom half of the seventh when Jaime Wilson gave up a single to start the inning and was bunted over to second. After Jen Probst relieved Wilson, Sara Buffington singled home the game- winning run. Bloomsburg, 33-9, 20-4 in the PSAC East, will host the PSAC playoffs this coming Friday and Saturday, May 2-3 at Jan Hutchinson Field. Start times to be announced. GAME ONE
