Bloomsburg Sweeps Pair in Softball WednesdayORLANDO, FLThe Bloomsburg University softball team ran its shutout streak to 28 innings by sweeping a pair of games on Wednesday. The Huskies beat Ferris State, 4-0, then downed Southern Indiana, 1-0. Bloomsburg has not been scored upon in the last four games. In the opener with Ferris State, Amber Cowher (Williamsport/Williamsport) allowed seven hits, but no runs and struck out six win her third consecutive game. The Bloomsburg offense was led by Jess Shndyer (Milton/Milton) who tripled home a run, then scored herself on a fielding error on the play in the fifth inning. The Huskies put two more runs on the board in the sixth inning when Crystal Condron (Hummelstown/Hershey) plated one run with a fielder's choice ground out and Becca Kehler (Klingerstown/Tri-Valley) followed with an RBI single. In game two, the Huskies got the only run of the game in the first inning when Samantha Basalik (Warminster/Wm. Tennent) reached on an error with one out and moved to second when Amanda Breon (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) walked. Deanna Wolfe (Milton/Milton) then followed with a double scoring Basalik with the game's only run. Jen Probst (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) pitched the first 5 1/3 innings and allowed just two hits with Amanda Smith (Sandy Ridge/Philipsburg-Osceola) going the final 1 2/3 innings for the save. Both Probst and Smith were dominant in the game and allowed just one Southern Indiana runner to reach second base. Bloomsburg, 6-2, is off on Thursday and will face Wayne State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on Friday morning. GAME ONE Box Score
