Bloomsburg Softball Headed to Shippensburg for NCAA Regionals

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University softball team will make its 21st consecutive NCAA Division II playoff appearance when it travels to Shippensburg University for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional championships Thursday through Sunday, May 8-11. The time and opponent for the Huskies' first game on Thursday is still to be announced.

Bloomsburg, 35-11, finished second at the PSAC championships over the weekend. Bloomsburg lost it opening game to IUP, then came back to win its next two games, before losing to Shippensburg in the finals.

The Huskies will be looking for their third fourth consecutive NCAA Regional title and 10th overall. The winner of the Mid-Atlantic championship will advance to Salem, OR for the NCAA Division II national championship tournament featuring the eight regional winners May 15-19.

Joining Bloomsburg and host Shippensburg for the Mid-Atlantic Regional will be California (PA), Kutztown, Indiana (PA) and Shawn University of North Carolina.
